The following is a synopsis of the September 4, 2007 meeting of the Kasson Township Board. A complete transcript is available from the Township Clerk. Supervisor Lanham called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. All members were present as well as five guests.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
There were no conflicts of interest.
The minutes of the August 6, 2007 meeting were approved.
Reviewed correspondence.
Received Treasurer’s report and approved payment of bills.
Reviewed permits for August.
Received Planning Commission and Sheriff’s Office reports.
It was suggested by a guest to review the Impact Fee Agreement with Glen’s Sanitary Landfill.
Continued work on Junk Ordinance.
Lanham reported on areas covered by various Fire Depts.
Agreed to place ad to fill vacant position on Planning Commission.
Agreed that Kasson Township should join the other Leelanau Townships and be represented by Mr. Tom Grier regarding the Michigan Tax Tribunal. Cost not to exceed $200.00.
Acknowledged August 20, 2007 letter from Simen, Figura & Parker, P.L.C. representing the Turnbulls and Gabe Schlosser.
Agreed not to participated in the Local Update Census Addresses Program.
Held discussion regarding the Cedar Rod & Gun Club.
Adjourned meeting at 8:47 p.m.
