County schools didn’t enjoy the same level of success at the Traverse City West Volleyball Invitational Saturday as they have in previous years.
Glen Lake, Leland and Suttons Bay varsity volleyball teams all battled throughout the day, with Leland and Suttons Bay making it to the semifinal round. The host Titans and Traverse City Central knocked off county opponents, with T-C West beating Leland 25-17, 25-18, and the Trojans downing the Norsemen 25-15, 25-22, for an all-Traverse City teams final. Suttons Bay starting the day by beating T-C Central, Glen Lake 25-10, 25-12, Cedar Springs and Leland in pool play, but lost to T-C West 25-21, 25-19. That set up the Norse for their showdown with T-C Central in the semis.
