Contractors have begun installing approximately 900 feet of median curb near the entrance station of the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
The project began Monday and will take place from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. weekdays through Oct. 5, according to a park service news release.
“While the drive will remain open, visitors are advised to expect potential delays in the work area. The remaining 6.5 miles of the drive are unaffected by construction,” park service officials said.
Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is a popular attraction especially during the fall color change, so no work will take place on weekends to minimize delays during peak weekend hours, officials added.
