Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear is looking for volunteers to help with fall work projects on buildings in the Port Oneida Rural Historic District of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

PHSB is planning a project for tomorrow and Saturday, Sept. 28-29, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., to work on historic outbuildings at the Peter Burfiend and Carsten Burfiend farms in the historic district. The two-day event will save and restore a “rabbit shed” and “brooder house” that are in poor condition, according to a news release.

Both skilled and unskilled carpenters are encourage to volunteer. To register, call PHSB at 334-6103 or register online at www.phsb.org.
