MARRIED: KYLEE GARVIN and SHAYNE GATZKE

Kylee Garvin and Shayne Gatzke, both of Grand Rapids, were united in marriage on July 7 at Immaculate Conception Church in Traverse City. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. James Hayden, and a reception was held at the Park Place Dome.

The maid of honor was the bride’s friend, Crystal Leach. The bridesmaids were her friends Jennifer Peterson and Shannon Jones, and the groom’s sister Marsha Gatzke, The flower girl was Keyanna Garvin.

The groom’s best man was his friend Benjamin Zeigler. The groomsmen included his brother Shawn Gatzke, his friend Derek Miller, and the bride’s brother Jayson Garvin. Michael Jones and Thomas Wolf were the ushers.

The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Susan Garvin of Traverse City. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. She is currently finishing work on a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Grand Valley State University, and is employed at Spectrum Health as a nurse technician in the emergency department.

The groom is the son of Debra Gatzke, and Wayne Gatzke, both of Traverse City. He is the warehouse manager for Rooms Today Furniture, and is planning a return to school.
