Ruth M. Schaub of Suttons Bay was elected NALS Michigan Association of Legal Professionals president-elect for 2007-08.

Schaub is a trial paralegal at Parsons Ringsmuth PLC in Traverse City, specializing in personal injury, wrongful death and civil rights litigation.

She is the current vice-chairperson of the NALS certification board, authorizing and grading national certification exams for legal professionals including the professional paralegal exam. Schaub, named Grand Traverse Area Legal Professional of the Year in 1995, has 21 years of legal experience.

The wife of John Schaub of Suttons Bay, she is a motivational speaker for legal professionals throughout Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Oklahoma. In 2005, Schaub received the NALS Foundation Scales of Justice Award and the NALS Leadership Award in 2006. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Legal Assistant Section, obtaining professional legal secretary certification in 1990 and professional paralegal certification in 2005.
