SYNOPSIS

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 by Supervisor Harry Larkin with Treasurer Mike Kirt, Clerk Jane Keen and Trustees Nicholas Lederle and Steve Plamondon, and 29 guests present. The agenda was approved. Minutes were approved as presented for the August 13 board meeting. The Treasurer’s Report was approved as presented. The following board actions were taken:

Approved a revised Leland Harbor enhancement plan

Agreed to buy back and resell two cemetery lots

Reallocated items in the Planning Commission budget

Agreed to pay $17,461.41 to reshingle the roof over the Munnecke Room
Retained an attorney to represent Leland Township with the Michigan Tax Tribunal in legal action brought by Cherryland Electric Cooperative

Authorized a sewer rate increase

Issued a resolution of support for the closing of Cedar Street in Leland, contingent on the completion of the sale of the county property to Varley-Kelly, and contingent on the final development plan submitted to the township remaining consistent with preliminary proposals to the township and the County Road Commission

Appointed Will Heinzmann and Ken Nash to the Zoning Board of Appeals

Appointed Rink Wheeler to the Parks and Recreation Commission

Approved bills and accounts
