The Northwestern Michigan College Community Concert Band will kick off its 2007-08 performance season with a concert featuring music by American composers at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12.

The concert celebrates innovation, folk music and history of American and will also feature two solos by xylophone virtuoso Gwendolyn Burgett Thrasher.
