Occupation: Sales manager for Clark Food Service, a Chicago-based wholesale food distributor with an office in Cadillac.
Marital status (include children): Single, divorced with two children, Brooke, 15, and Shanna, 12, who both attend St. Mary School. “I’m divorced, but I get along with my ex just fine.”
You live in Leelanau County because: “We came up here in 1977 for a weekend and moved up here permanently the next week. It’s a wonderful place to raise a family. I had never been up here before, and I just loved everything about it.”
Last good movie you saw was: “The Pirates of the Caribbean, the second one. I watched it with my daughters at home. It was just a fun movie. I also liked that boxing movie, with Russell Crowe, Cinderella Man.”
Last good book you read was: “Truthfully, who has time to read a book? I read National Geographic, Readers Digest, and the Leelanau Enterprise, and that’s about it.”
If you could trade places with one person for a day, that person would be: “This week, Magglio Ordonez because he won the batting title. How cool is that? Next week, probably one of the cast members of Survivor.”
Things important to you that you have accomplished so far: “Being successful at work and helping my ex-wife raise our two daughters.”
What you hope to be doing in 10 years: “In addition to my regular job I’ve started working part-time with a company called Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing. I hope to be very successful with that. I also hope to be having fun and traveling with my two daughters.”
Things you lose sleep over: “I generally don’t lose too much sleep. I hope I’ve raised my two daughters so that they are productive individuals and that they can live in Leelanau County.”
If you could change one thing in Leelanau County, it would be: “I don’t know that I would change anything. I like it as it is. I would hate to see Leelanau become too commercialized.”
Favorite dessert is: Pineapple upside down cake. “Cedar Rustic Inn makes a pretty good one.”
Are you a coffee drinker: “Yes, I drink three to four cups a day, black, no sugar. Sometimes I get hazelnut coffee.”
Favorite place in Leelanau County is: “My house on the Narrows. It’s a great place, I can have people over and my daughters love it.”
If you had more time, you would: “Fish more, golf more, and travel more.”
The words that best describe you are: “I try not to take life too seriously, but I like to make sure I’m having a good time and the people around me are having a good time.”
