The Rev. Norm Dixon, former pastor of Gesu parish in Detroit, will speak on "non-violence in our life from a faith and justice perspective" at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Michael church in Suttons Bay.
Dixon, a Jesuit priest who lived in the Sudan and Kenya from 1982 to 1992, is sponsored by St. Michael’s Social Justice and Peace Commission.
In the Sudan, Dixon worked to establish a secondary school, a project interrupted by the 39-year Sudanese Civil War. In Kenya, he served as a college business administrator. His personal interest in non-violence resulted from his experiences in Africa, his studies and his Jesuit faith.
All are welcome. Refreshments will be served.
