The following is a synopsis of the October 9, 2007 regular meeting of the Empire Township

Board. A complete copy of the minutes may be obtained by contacting the Clerk.
Supervisor Bolton called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Members present: Deering, Neiswonger, Pendleton, and Noonan. Minutes of the 9-11-07 regular meeting were approved.

Airport, Treasurer, and Planning reports were heard. Planning is holding a public hearing on 10-16-07 on the new proposed zoning ordinance.

Board heard report from the Supervisor re Empire and Glen Arbor’s attempts to have the County more equitably distribute PILT funds to the five townships that have National Park land within their borders.

Actions approved by motions: 1) Reappointed members to various boards. 2) Approved placement of Lion’s Club memorial plaque in township hall. 3) Approved Supervisor signing County Planning Department’s Memorandum of Understanding for EPA grant application. 4) Approved 2007/2008 budget amendments. 5) Paid monthly bills.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
