1929-2007

Services were held Tuesday at St. Gertrude’s Parish in Northport for former Northport resident Edward Anthony Green who died Oct. 19 at Lakeland Center in Southfield. He was 77.

He was born Nov. 12, 1929, in Detroit, the son of Joseph Patrick Green and Henrietta Ann Scheuer. On Nov. 5, 1977, in Algonac, he married Betty Jean Hodges who preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 1991.

He served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War. After his service, he was a member of the Brick Layers Union Local 2 in Detroit and Local 10 of Port Huron.

He is survived by his children, Daniel (Delores) Green of East Pointe, Edward Green of Marine City, Denise Dunn of Northport, Deanna “Lee” (Rick) Nelson of Lake Ann, Douglas (Lorie) Brown of St. Clair, Dwayne Brown of Traverse City, Dawn Brown and Jeff Schultz of Lake Ann; and 16 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth; and his siblings, Leonard, Joseph, Lawrence, Dennis, Loyola, Kathleen, Delores and Adeline.
