Residents are reminded to turn their clocks back by one hour Sunday as most of the nation reverts from Daylight Saving Time to standard time.
Standard time officially begins at 2 a.m. Sunday.
In previous years, Daylight Saving Time began on the first Sunday of April and switched to standard time on the last Sunday in October. Because of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 that was signed into law by President George W. Bush, however, Daylight Saving Time now starts on the second Sunday in March and standard time begins on the first Sunday in November.
In 2008, Daylight Saving Time begins on March 9, and standard time starts on Nov. 2.
