Lorraine Johnson, an expert on native plants and author of numerous gardening books, will speak at an event titled, Caring for Our Land, on Thursday, Nov. 8 at the Northwest Michigan Horticultural Research Station.

The 8 p.m. event is being hosted by a partnership of the MSUE-Leelanau, Leelanau Conservancy, Leelanau Conservation District and the Grand Traverse Regional Conservancy.
