1928-2007

An open house will be held at her home on Gilbert Lake near Empire on Sunday, Nov. 11, from 3 to 8 p.m., for Mary C. White who died at home on Nov. 1. She was 79.

She was born March 29, 1928, in Ypsilanti.

She worked in education for many years and was a psychologist in private practice in Royal Oak until her retirement in 1999 when she began living in Leelanau County year-round.

She is survived by her sister, Janet (Don) Laatsch of East Lansing; brothers, John (Patti) Chipman of Kalamazoo and Jim (Olga) Chipman of Grand Blanc; children, Elizabeth of Renick, Mark of Ann Arbor, Hughthir of Empire, John Peter of Detroit; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
