1936-2007

A memorial service was held Tuesday in Traverse City for Richard V. McClure who died Nov. 1 in Leelanau County. He was 71.

He was born Feb. 19, 1936.

He grew up in the Detroit area, earned a degree from Wayne State University, and served in the Air Force Reserve. In 1970, he and his family moved to the Traverse City area where he was employed by Farmer’s Mutual Insurance as General Manager.

Surviving are his daughters, Jeanne (Christian) Gross and Kerri (Aaron) Wosek; and five granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ross McClure of California.
