The Inland Seas Education Association will present a seminar focusing on the future of the lake sturgeon at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Inland Seas Education Center in Suttons Bay.
The program, “Save the Sturgeon,” will be presented by Brenda Archambo, the founder and president of Sturgeon for Tomorrow, a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist fisheries managers in the rehabilitation of lake sturgeon.
Archambo, who has been called the “Sturgeon General,” has won numerous awards for her efforts in natural resources conservation.
The lake sturgeon is one of Michigan’s oldest fish species and is thought of as a “living fossil.”
