Starlight Night, an annual fundraiser by the Leland Educational Foundation to support Leland Public School, will be held at the Bluebird Restaurant on Friday, Nov. 30, from 6-11 p.m.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS involved in planning the auction for Starlight Night include (from left) Jill Hennig, Megan Munoz, Dick Force and Robin Graham.
Starlight Night will include silent and live auctions, a buffet-style dinner, a cash bar, and vignette performances from Leland High School drama students who are involved in the upcoming production of Little Shop of Horrors.
“It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year. Last year we raised more than $30,000 and we hope to do as well this year,” said Kris Sneed, who is involved in planning this year’s event.
The silent auction will include art projects that were produced by students at Leland School. A live auction will include 10 items, including:
• Trips to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, Callaway Gardens in Georgia, Florida, Hilton Head Island in South Carolina, Crystal Mountain, and the Manitou and Beaver islands.
• A dinner party hosted by Martha Ryan.
• A Gill’s Pier Winery dinner prepared by a professional chef.
• Skating time at Centre Ice Arena in Traverse City with Detroit Red Wings player Dallas Drake.
Online bidding for the 10 items can be done at
www.absolutemichigan.com/starlightauction. The bidding will close on Thursday, Nov. 29. Members of the public can preview the auction items at the Bluebird beginning at noon on the day of the event.
Tickets are $25 and available at Leland School.
