Glen Lake News

Last week I mentioned that there had not been a power outage as yet. I no more than finished and there was a power outage for another three hours. Someone must have breathed hard or spit in the street. This is getting old.

The Glen Arbor Women's Club met at the home of Dawn Baldwin for a wine and cheese tasting party presented by the new owners of Folgarelli's Market in Traverse City. The hostesses were Charlene Fornowski and Marie Pfiefer. I was told that their cake was great. I'm sure the wine was pretty good, also.

Thanks again to the Garden Club for the decorations on the Carl Oleson Jr. (Narrows) Bridge, and thanks to Annette Lewis for taking care of the flowers, etc., at the Glen Arbor post office.

Best wishes to Mary Rader, who is in the hospital.

Happy birthday wishes to Becky Alonzi.

Thanksgiving weekend, always a good time. The Pajama Party will be held from 5 am. to 7 p.m. in Glen Arbor Friday. The sophomore class at Glen Lake will be offering gift wrapping in the morning (5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.), and then again in the afternoon at the Village Sampler. Then, of course, the tree lighting and Christmas Caroling that evening with possibly some students leading the way. On Saturday, not only is there the Holiday Marketplace, but also ol’ St. Nick will be there for all the little, and a little bigger, kids. All in all a great time and kick off to the holidays.

I haven't seen many deer that have been taken, but be careful driving. They are definitely spooked.

Let me be the first to say, happy holidays, and merry Christmas.

I'm not giving up: Go Bears.
