Stephanie Schlueter and Eric Ahlquist, both of Grand Rapids, have announced their wedding engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Stephen and Vicki Schlueter of Suttons Bay. She is a graduate of St. Mary School, and Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., where she earned an associate’s degree in science. She is also in the U.S. Army Reserve, and is a LPN at Metro Health Hospital.

The future groom is the son of Anne Barton and Ron Ahlquist, both of Muskegon. He earned a Ph.D. from Western Michigan University in mechanical engineering. He is employed by Frost Inc., in Grand Rapids, where he is a design engineer.

The couple plans a Jan. 5, 2008 wedding.
