Year-to-values decrease by 32 percent.

With winter weather looming, the pace of construction activity in Leelanau County appears to have throttled back as usual for this time of year. Meanwhile, year-to-date numbers remain substantially behind last year’s pace.

During the latest two-week reporting period, the department issued 26 new permits which, combined, represented an estimated $2,779,689 in construction value.

The latest additions brought the year-to-date total number of permits issued to 522 – about 17 percent fewer than were issued by this time last year. The year-to-date estimated construction values now total $31,878,745 – down more than 32 percent from the total seen by this time in 2006.

Following is a list of projects for which permits have been issued, listed by the community in which the work is being done:
