A regular meeting of the board was held on October 9, 2007. The board approved the following:
An informational mailing be sent to residents explaining the fire millage request.
Resolutions authorizing amendments to the sewer and water ordinances.
Reconfiguration of slip sizes for the third dock as recommended by the Marina Committee.
Amendment to the Personnel Policy to include bi-weekly payrolls.
Facilities agreement between Elmwood and American Red Cross to allow storage of one Red Cross vehicle at the old fire station.
Mutual aid agreement with Northflight pending review by the attorney.
Memorandum of Understanding with the Leelanau County Brownfield Assessment project.
2008 marina fees.
Resolution for a partial termination of a Farmland Development Rights Agreement.
Resolution #1 to development special assessment districts for maintenance and snow removal of East Timberwoods Dr., S. Orchard Way, S. Blue Ridge Ln. and Old Orchard Rd.
Resolution approving the Waterways Grant Agreement including a request to allow seasonal dockage earlier than one year after construction.
Resolution to approve the agreement addendum to the Waterways grant agreement regarding supplemental funding or scope of work change.
Scheduling of budget work session for Oct 25th.
Payment of invoices in the amount of $194,931.08.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
A special meeting was held on October 25, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. The Board reviewed the budget including road funding and the Fire Department. Areas for savings were reviewed and the Fire Chief will also look at possible areas to make reductions. The marina rates that were increased for next year’s budget may not have to contain an increase according to a new State policy. A decision on that will be made at the next regular meeting
The meeting was adjourned at 12:45 p.m.
