Services were to be held at noon on Nov. 21 at St. Michael’s Parish of Suttons Bay for Ruth Ellen Fitzpatrick of Suttons Bay who died Nov. 13 at Munson Hospice. She was 77.

She was born Nov. 26, 1929, in Detroit, the daughter of Glenn and Flossie (Gardner) Snedecor. On May 12, 1951, in Detroit, she married John Patrick Fitzpatrick, who preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 2001.

She was a volunteer who helped in nursery school and the Girl Scouts. She was also involved in the Red Hat Society and the Sweet Adelines. She and her husband loved RV traveling. In her final years, she became an accomplished online recreational poker player.

She is survived by daughters, Patricia (Kenneth) Kraemer, Mary (Kevin) Ary; a son, John Charles Fitzpatrick; a sister, Helen Jean Songerath; two granddaughters, two step-grandchildren and a nephew.

She was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor, and a brother, Bud.
