A documentary featuring the life of the Pope John Paul II will be shown Sunday, Dec. 2 on CMU Public Television.
John Paul II: A Saint for Our Time will air at 9 p.m. The program chronicles the life of one of the world’s most influential leaders as the Vatican completes the process of Beatification, the first step in the process of declaring someone a saint.
The program examines the life of the late pontiff, beginning with his “baptism by life” in war-torn Poland during World War II. After his accession to the papacy, John Paul II had an influence on the fall of totalitarian regimes throughout the world and traveled to spread his message of human dignity, religious freedom and human rights.
