"The Informed Consumer" is the topic of a Dec. 7 panel discussion at St. Michael Catholic Church in Suttons Bay.

The presenters will include Chris and Jodie Treter, owner of Higher Grounds Trading Co.; Sean Burns, co-owner of Green Island-Earth Friendly Goods in Traverse City; and the Rev. Wayne Dziekan of the Gaylord Diocesan Secretariat for Justice and Peace.

The 7 p.m. program will encourage different ways of thinking about the choices consumers make in purchasing food and items for the home. Healthy, environmentally sound and socially responsible decisions will be explored.

The presentation, sponsored by the St. Michael’s Social Justice and Peace Commission, will be in the Father Baker Hall. All are welcome.
