Centerville Township
Amendment of Zoning Ordinance
The Township of Centerville hereby ordains:
The Centerville Township Zoning Ordinance regulating the development and use of land has been amended by the township board of the Township of Centerville, Leelanau County Michigan. The effective date of the new ordinance is December 7, 2007.
Copies of the ordinance may be obtained by contacting Mr. George Peplinski, the Centerville Township Zoning Administrator, at 231-228-6853. The Zoning Administrator has copies of the ordinance and will have them availalbe for purchase or review, by pre-arrangement, at the Centerville Township Hall located on South French Road, in Cedar, Michigan. The Zoning Administrator does not hold regular office hours, so interested parties are asked to phone ahead for an appointment to review or purchase a copy of the Ordinance. The Ordinance is also available on the Leelanau County Website at the following URL: http://www.leelanau.cc/government153717.asp.
Following is a summary of the amendments:
• All Sections and Articles of the Ordinance have been amended to correct typographical and grammatical errors as well as incorrect references.
• A new Winery Ordiannce has been added.
• The Residential Zoning District has been moditifed to include Section 5.4 Ski View Farms Subdivision.
• Dog Kennels was eliminated as a Special Use in the Residential District.
• Commerical renewable energy windmills was eliminated as a Special Land Use in the Agricultural District as a new Ordinance regulating Commerical Windmills is being developed.
• Many Sections were changed to comply with the Michigan Zoning Enableing Act, PA 110 of 2006.
