1922-2007

A memorial service will be held today in Arizona for Suttons Bay native Garnet P. Nash of Peoria, Ariz., who died Nov. 17. She was 85.

She was born in Suttons Bay on April 17, 1922, the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Sanborn) Reincke. Her husband, John L. “Jack” Nash, survives.

She met her husband in Leelanau County and the couple lived most of their adult lives in Grand Rapids. Upon retirement, the couple moved to Arizona where they lived for more than 25 years. She enjoyed traveling, was an avid fan of the Phoenix Suns, and a member of the Peoria Presbyterian Church.

She is also survived by her son, Ron Nash; her sister, Carol Nelson; and a grandson.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Glen Reincke.
