Open house set at artist's new studio

The former headquarters of Higher Grounds Coffee near Lake Leelanau has a new tenant.

Tom “T.J.” Krueger — artist, musician and teacher —has made the site his new studio. A native of Manitowoc, Wis., Krueger, 60, said he’s moving into the “third trimester” of his life, making the move across Lake Michigan from Green Bay, Wis. after 37 years.

A lifelong potter, Krueger creates decorative vessels and plans to host courses in the medium as well as painting, drum-making, drumming and cross country skiing.

He will host an open house at the site, 1088 Saw Mill Rd., off Schomberg Road, Dec. 17 through 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For more information, call 920-655-1721.
