Inland Seas seeks instructors for its schoolship, programs

The Inland Seas Education Association (ISEA) based in Suttons Bay is looking for a new class of volunteer instructors for its schoolship and education center programs.

ISEA will hold volunteer instructor training classes at Norris Elementary school in Elmwood Township on Wednesday evenings from 7 - 9 p.m. beginning Jan. 9 through March 26.

The association is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire young people to peruse academic disciplines related to the Great Lakes and to provide enhanced public understanding and stewardship of the Great Lakes. From May through October, ISEA takes students of all ages aboard traditional Great Lakes schooners to teach them about the science and history of the Great Lakes. ISEA also offers hands-on educational programs in the Inland Seas Education Center in Suttons Bay.

For more information, contact Christine Diana at 271-3077 or visit www.schoolship.org online.
