Cedar resident Rebecca Prause-Stachnik has been awarded a $3,500 Dairy Memorial Scholarship by the Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation, Inc.

She is one of 15 Michigan State University students to receive the scholarships. Awards are based on academics, extracurricular activities and interest in dairy industry careers. In all, 28 students received more than $85,000 in dairy scholarship for the 2007-08 academic year.

The Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation, Inc., oversees the largest scholarship program in the MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. It is the university’s second largest scholarship program; only the athletic scholarship program is larger.
