It’s pretty bleak out there – cold, snow, wind and ice. Oh yeah, it’s winter.

Don’t forget, shop locally. Only 11 more shopping days. That means I have only 10 more days to think about what I want to buy. My philosophy, if anyone cares, is if I wait until the day before Christmas to shop it cuts down on the number of products I am forced to look at, and the people in the stores don’t bother trying to sell you something. They just want you to leave, and you don’t have to wait long to find out if the person you bought the gift for likes it.

I understand that the Empire Lions Club’s Christmas party was a success and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Very sincere condolences to the family and the many, many friends of Bernard (Barney) Glettler. A truly good man.
