Appointments to the Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission and Board of Appeals were made last week by the Solon Township Board.

The board supported the reappointment of Al Laskey to the Planning Commission, Cora Cole to the Board of Appeals, and Ron Alpers, Bob Dezelski, Ron Novak, Walt Frey and Dan Brzezinski to the Parks & Recreation Commission.

Laskey’s appointment, approved at the regular monthly meeting Dec. 13, is for a 3-year term. The appeals board appointment of Cole will expire in December 2009. The Parks and Recreation seats are for one year, Clerk Shirley Mikowski said.

In other business last week, the board:

• Accepted a low bid from KJM Enterprises for snow removal at the township hall and fire station. The price per removal was not immediately available.

• Appointed Rich Nachazel as township sexton for a 1-year period;

• Learned that remaining work on the streetscape project, primarily on the catch basin, will be completed in the spring.
