
GLEN AND FRANCES King were married on Oct. 12, 1957.
Glen A. and Frances King of Old Mission Peninsula celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Oct. 13 at the 5 p.m. Mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Traverse City. The Rev. James Hayden officiated at the church, where the Kings are active parishioners.
Glen Anthony King and the former Frances Witkowski were married on Oct. 12, 1957 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Cedar. The Rev. Herman Kolenda officiated.
Mr. King served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 during and after the Korean War. He retired from Cone Drive Gear Inc. in Traverse City. Mrs. King retired from Northwood Industries in Traverse City, and later worked part time for the U.S. Postal Service in Traverse City. She is a former Cedar resident, and Mr. King formerly resided in Traverse City. They have lived on Old Mission Peninsula for 50 years.
The couple has two daughters, Lynndell K. Drzeiwicki of Cedar, and Lorraine M. McPherson sof Mesick. They also have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Following the church ceremony, a dinner and reception for the family and friends was hosted at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Greilickville.
