The following is a synopsis of the December 11, 2007 regular meeting of the Empire Township Board. A complete copy of the minutes may be obtained by contacting the Clerk.
Supervisor Bolton called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Members present: Deering, Neiswonger, Pendleton, and Noonan. Minutes of the 11-13-07 regular meeting were approved.
Board of Review, Treasurer, and Planning reports were heard. The Board will begin their review of the new proposed zoning ordinance especially in regards to lot size, non-conforming uses, and the M-72 commercial district.
Board agreed with Glen Arbor Township’s proposal that townships with National Park land within their borders should receive 75% of PILT 6902 funds. Letter will be written to the County re the funds.
Bill Bolton will try to receive a more solid estimate on what it will cost to renovate the township fire hall for 24/7 emergency service. Once figures are obtained, the Board will schedule a hearing to receive residents input on proposed plans.
Actions approved by motions: 1) Paid monthly bills.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
