Boy Scout Troop 131 held a Court of Honors last month and awarded promotions to several local scouts.

At the Dec. 18 event, Ben Bakker received his second Bronze Eagle Palm. Joel Kurek and Jacob Poirer both earned First Class rank. Josiah Bakker and Garrett Koss earned their Basic Scouter and Tenderfoot ranks; and Collin Platts received his Basic Scouter rank.

A variety of merit badges were also awarded. After the Court of Honors, the troop had a Christmas party. The troop will meet again on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Boys who are 11, have completed fifth grade or have earned the Arrow of Light award can join the Boy Scouts. Troop 131 meets at the Keswick United Methodist Church on Center Highway south of Suttons Bay on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
