The Republican Women of Leelanau County installed new officers for 2008 and honored two of its members at a recent luncheon meeting held at the Leland Lodge.

Nola Batch of Battle Creek, the president of the National Federation of Republican Women, conducted the installation ceremony. Each new officer was presented with a spray of fresh flowers tied with colored ribbons that signify the duties of each office.
The new RWLC officers include president Peggy Kolarik, first vice president Sue Kroeger, second vice president Wilma McQueen, treasurer Dana Roman, assistant treasurer Paula Crimmons, corresponding secretary Pat Foster, and recording secretary Lonnie Morley.
Outgoing president Helen Stimson was honored and thanked for her leadership, and member Judy Egeler, who is retiring as executive director of the Leelanau Conservation District, was presented with a tribute from the Michigan Senate given by Sen. Michelle McManus (R-Lake Leelanau), jewelry, and a cash gift to the conservation district in her honor.
The RWLC board will meet on Monday at 10 a.m. at the conservation district’s conference room in Lake Leelanau, and a RWLC general meeting and morning coffee will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 21. Reservations can be made by contacting Arloa Edwards at 256-9374.
