No services are planned for Michael J. Lane of Maple City who died Dec. 28 at Munson Hospice House. He was 75.
He was born May 6, 1932, in Detroit, the son of Joe and Elizabeth (Chamberlain) Lane. His wife of 30 years, Jean, survives.
He served in Korea for three combat tours as a Ranger attached to the 82nd Airborne and then served 20 years as a Detroit police officer. He enjoyed playing golf, playing poker with the Leelanau County Liars and Poker Club, story-telling, and walking his dog Mickey in the woods.
Also surviving are his children, Michael G., Coleen Streeter and Kevin; a brother, Robert; and seven grandchildren.
