Lakers, Eagles return with wins

All the county's high school girls' basketball teams returned to action this week, with Glen Lake and St. Mary securing wins over Leland and Northport, respectively. Suttons Bay played at Frankfort Friday night and lost.

Township to hire contractors for Timberlee road maintenance

Elmwood moved one step closer to the road maintenance business Tuesday night with the passage of resolutions essentially putting the township in charge of hiring contractors to plow and maintain roads in the Timberlee area.

Multiple-use dock plan rapped

A request by the owners of a residential development in Elmwood Township with West Grand Traverse Bay frontage to begin the process to establish a dock for multiple users drew the ire of the Township Board Tuesday at its monthly meeting.
