The Annual Meeting of township inhabitants was set and meetings for the remainder of the calendar year were scheduled Monday night by the Kasson Township Board.
Board members voted unanimously Monday night to set the Annual Meeting for 10 a.m. on March 29. The last Saturday in March is the date traditionally observed by many local townships for holding Annual Meetings.
Those attending the meeting will hear reports from township departments, including planning and zoning. They may also provide input on the 2008-09 budget, and compensation for township officers. By law, township officials must pass salary resolutions a least a month prior to the Annual Meeting. If increases are sought, they would likely be proposed at next month’s meeting of the Township Board.
Meeting dates for the 2008 calendar year and January 2009 were also set by the board Monday night.
The group will continue to meet the first Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the township hall on Newman Road. The only exception would be in September, when the date conflicts with Labor Day. That month, the meeting will be held on the first Tuesday, township Clerk Kathlyn Feys said.
No other business was conducted during the 38-minute meeting.
