Northwestern Michigan College will show five classic movies as part of its spring 2008 Free Film series.
The five offerings are all examples of various classic films genres, and will be shown in Milliken Auditorium on the college’s main campus. The films, which all begin at 7 p.m., the genre they represent and the dates they will be shown are:
• Silent – Modern Times (1936), Jan. 23.
• Classic – Harvey (1950), Feb. 27.
• Dark – M*A*S*H (1970), March 12.
• Screwball – Ball of Fire (1941), March 26.
• Satire – Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), April 23.
An NMC faculty or staff member, or the film series coordinator, will give a short lecture and provide a handout before each film. The Free Film Series is supported in part by funds from the NMC Barbecue, Student Government Association, and Osterlin Library.
