A Suttons Bay man could spend up to three months in jail after pleading guilty to attempted breaking and entering of a coin box.
Joshua M. Bailey, 18, of 11075 E. McKeese Rd., Suttons Bay, pleaded guilty in 86th District Court Friday morning to the charge as part of a plea bargain arrangement. In exchange for pleading guilty and for assisting law enforcement officials with information on other cases, assistant county prosecutor Douglas Donaldson agreed to drop the full charge of breaking and entering. Bailey is free on bond and will be sentenced Feb. 1 by Judge Thomas J. Philips.
According to court documents, on Oct. 4, 2007, Bailey attempted to force open a coin box at a roadside fruit and vegetable stand on M-22 south of Suttons Bay. He now faces a maximum penalty of up to three months in jail or $350 in fines and costs.
