Enterprise seeks essays from readers.
With winter firmly in control of outdoor activities in Leelanau, it may be difficult to look ahead to a summer of sun and fun.
But some Enterprise readers live for Leelanau summers. You may be one of them. If so, we’d like to hear from you.
The Enterprise is looking for written submissions about summers in Leelanau County.
We’re pretty open about the story lines. They could include that special feeling when opening up the family cottage, the hustle-and-bustle of waiting tables in July or being the first water skier one morning on Glen Lake.
If it’s about summer and Leelanau, you’re on the right topic.
We plan to publish the submissions in a Diversions section this summer, and may chose one for inclusion in the Leelanau Visitors Guide we publish annually.
Please limit submissions to 200 words. They may be mailed to the Leelanau Enterprise, 7200 E. Duck Lake Road, Lake Leelanau, MI 49653; or emailed to alan@leelanaunews.com.
We will appreciate all submissions, and will be selecting one for a prize: Appropriately enough, a 5-pound box of dried cherries.
