Musician Seth Bernard will perform a benefit concert on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Old Art Building in Leland.

Proceeds from the concert will be used to purchase guitars for young people involved in a Mayan music education program in Chiapas, Mexico.

Chris and Jody Treter of Leland, owners of the Higher Grounds Trading Company, purchase “fair trade” coffee beans in the Chiapas region, and will say a few words about the Guitars for Chiapas project at the concert. Bernard plans to visit Chiapas next month to teach guitar to local students.
