Services will be held at a later date for James Burr Foster of Leelanau County who died Jan. 19 in Suttons Bay at Tendercare of Leelanau. He was 57.

He was born on Jan. 30, 1950, in Lansing, the son of James and Betty Foster of Millett who preceded him in death.

He was a 1969 graduate of Grand Ledge High School and attended Lansing Community College. He served in the Michigan National Guard. He moved to Traverse City in 1989 and worked for many years for Sherwood Industries in Northport.

He is survived by his daughter, Brandi Jo of Battle Creek; a sister, Jan Marie (Mark) Killoran of Bath; two brothers, Christopher (Amy) of Reed City and Kevin (Deb) Foster of Suttons Bay; and two granddaughters.
