Snowmobilers from all over the state are expected to participate Saturday in the "Roy Taghon Memorial Ride" between Empire and Maple City.

An estimated 75 sleds will begin at noon from the Empire Airport and ride to Maple City for a 2 p.m. buffet at Benchwarmer’s Sports Bar and Grille and a dedication ceremony.

There will be a $10 charge per person for lunch, and all are welcome.

Donations from participants will go to a music scholarship fund being established in Taghon's name.
Roy Taghon died Jan. 20 in a snowmobile accident near Empire. He was 42.
