The Cherry Capital Cycling Club has donated 100 percent of the proceeds from last year's Leelanau Harvest Tour to Traverse Area Recreation and Transportation (TART) Trails.

The club provided an $18,000 check to TART Trails at a recent banquet. The funds represent proceeds from both the Harvest Tour and Ride Around Torch bicycling events.

Officials from TART Trails, which owns and manages a series of trail systems that include the Leelanau Trail, said the gift is the largest it has received from the bike club in 10 years. The funds will be used to improve trail systems and support advocacy efforts.
