1922-2008
Memorial services were held Tuesday in Traverse City for Christle Lorraine Rogers of Maple City, formerly of Traverse City, who died Jan. 23 at Maple Valley Nursing Home. She was 85.
She was born on Oct. 14, 1922, in Traverse City, the daughter of Roy and Odessa (Breithaupt) Christopher. On Jan. 18, 1941, at the Long Lake Friends Church, she married Joe C. Rogers who preceded her in death.
A homemaker, wife and mother, she loved gardening, flowers, crafts, music and her church.
Surviving are her three sons, Joe C. (Debbie) Rogers Jr., Dennis J. (Catherine) Rogers and Mark A. Rogers; two daughters, Dianne (Wayne) Durga and Debbie (Jerry) Ellis; a sister, Norene Pillars; twin brother, Christian Christopher; brothers, Keith, Richard and David Christopher; 24 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Gauld, Elenore Fouch and Rose Kevwitch; brothers, Roy Christopher, and an infant brother.
Memorials may be directed to the Long Lake Friends Church.
