
RACHEL AMALFITANO (bottom row, at left) won the St. Mary School spelling bee last week. She earned the title after correctly spelling the word “macrame” in the competition. Amalfitano and the six top St. Mary spellers in grades 5-8 will represent the school in the Leelanau County Spelling Bee Feb. 26 at Northport.
