Economist and academic Stephen Lewis will give a presentation, entitled Why Botswana is Africa's Ace of Diamonds, as part of the International Affairs Forum symposium series Feb. 21 at Northwestern Michigan College.
The event at Milliken Auditorium will begin at 6 p.m.
Lewis, president emeritus and professor of economics at Carleton College in Minnesota, specializes in developing economies.
A northern neighbor to South Africa, Botswana’s economy is highly reliant on diamond mining. Diamonds are its chief export.
