Bruce and Judy Balas’ granddaughters, Isabella and Alex, of Traverse City, had a sleep-over with their grandparents in Omena Balas Saturday night. Their mother, Allison Balas was also there. Movies, ice cream, and gale force winds were provided for entertainment. They recently moved to Traverse City from Noosa, Australia (near Brisbane). Bruce and Judy are enjoying spending the winter in Omena this year, keeping busy renovating the old farm house near downtown Suttons Bay, which will house a café opening in the spring.
Andrea and Mike Muladore of Saginaw organized the 11th annual Omena get-away at the Northport Bay Retreat. Andrea’s sister Roxanne Deibel and her husband Chuck Hodson from Muskegon were among the 16 couples who were here for the four-day weekend. They celebrated early birthdays with their parents, Gil and Annette Deibel. Annette and Gil also braved the elements to attend the big bash Saturday night at the retreat.
